Matters we support

Each engagement is scoped to the matter. The report identifies the intended use, intended users, and effective date — not a generic "fair market value" letter.

Estate & Probate Inventory

Date-of-death valuations for estate inventory, probate filings, and trust administration. Effective date locked to the decedent's date of death. Report identifies the estate or counsel as intended user.

Accepted by probate courts and estate counsel nationwide.

Divorce & Equitable Distribution

Fair market value as of the separation date or court-ordered valuation date. Condition, comparables, and methodology stated in plain English. Suitable for mediation packages and court exhibits.

Effective date locked to separation agreement or court order.

Charitable Donation — Form 8283 Support

Qualified appraisal documentation for non-cash charitable contributions. Report prepared to meet the substantiation requirements of IRC § 170(f)(11). We do not represent IRS acceptance — we provide the documentation the deduction requires.

Appraiser qualifications page included in every report.

How counsel uses our reports

Every report is built to survive scrutiny — from opposing counsel, a mediator, or the bench.

Engagement names the intended user

The attorney of record, the estate, or both are identified as intended users in the report — not a generic "client."

Effective date locked to the matter

Date of death, separation date, or inspection date — stated in the report, not assumed.

Inspection method disclosed

Photo-based or on-site — the scope of work section says which. No ambiguity for opposing counsel.

Comps and condition in plain English

Comparable sales, condition rating, and value conclusion written for a judge or mediator, not a car enthusiast.

Appraiser qualifications page in every report

CV, ASCAA membership, USPAP conformity statement, and ASCAA-CERT-4246 on the certification page.

One invoice, one contact, nationwide

Single point of contact for multi-vehicle estates and collections across all 50 states.

Frequently asked questions

Questions counsel asks before engaging us.

Are your reports accepted by probate courts?

Our reports are prepared in substantial conformity with USPAP and identify the intended use, intended users, and scope of work. We are ASCAA-certified (ASCAA-CERT-4246). Acceptance is ultimately at the court's discretion, but our reports are structured to meet the documentation standards probate courts and opposing counsel expect.

Can the engagement name the attorney or estate as intended user?

Yes. We name the attorney of record, the estate, or both as intended users in the report. The effective date is locked to the date of death, separation agreement, or inspection date as required by the matter.

Photo-based or on-site — which does the report reflect?

The report states the inspection method explicitly. Desktop appraisals are based on photos, VIN data, and comparable market analysis. On-site inspections are scheduled to your deadline. Both methods are identified in the scope of work section.

Are you available for declaration or deposition?

Testimony — written declaration, deposition, or trial — is available by separate written engagement. Discuss availability and scope on the initial call.

What is the turnaround time?

Desktop appraisals are often delivered same day once photos and the VIN packet are received. On-site inspections are scheduled to your hearing or inventory deadline. Rush availability is confirmed on the first call.

What do I need to send to engage you?

VIN, year/make/model, mileage, valuation date (date of death or separation), photos or address for inspection, case caption if you want it on the cover, and billing contact. Call or text (270) 790-7534 to open the engagement.

"Excellent experience from start to finish. Very professional, honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He takes a personal approach to each case, pays close attention to every detail, and clearly takes pride in doing his work thoroughly and correctly. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process, and I never felt like I was just another customer or another appraisal. It's hard to find someone who combines professionalism with this level of personal attention and integrity. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and thorough independent appraiser."

"My husband and I had the very best experience working with American Classic Appraisal Services. We were considering the purchase of a 1972 Chevy C10 stepside. Shawn personally went above and beyond to drive 3 hours to the dealership to perform the pre-inspection and test drive. He provided a very thorough pre-inspection report and YouTube video, as well as an appraisal report. He answered all questions and reached out to his network to help us with shipping quotes and sharing his experiences with classic car insurance providers. I highly recommend this company for all your needs."
